A little shaded version on the general design idea of mouth grips in Fallout: Equestria.
The design is uniformly used on all weapons and control bits on battle saddles.

Hmm in theory it looks like it might work though i would think it would be easy to accidentally press the eject magazine trigger. XD wouldn't be to much fun during a fire fite but i would guess with use it could work if you had practice.

Looks plausible enough, although the mag release doesn't necessarily have to be on the bit. It's just a button on most real weapons anyway so that just tapping it with a hoof in passing is easy enough while reloading.

Placing it there on the bit adds unnecessary complexity to an already complex engineering issue.

But hey, its a cartoon after all, and this looks amazing as it is.
